Domestic Renewable Heat Premium Payment Rates Increased

RHPP Phase Two Extension

An extension to the Renewable Heat Premium Payment (RHPP) scheme was announced by the Department of Energy and Climate Change on 26 March 2013. The scheme is being extended until the end of March 2014, ahead of the RHI scheme for householders.

Ofgem RHI Update – Getting paid to heat your property

It’s official, 12 months after being announced, the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) is well and truly up and running, at least for non-domestic premises* – (domestic will have to wait until Spring 2013)

Ofgem, who run the programme on behalf of DECC have published the following stats.

Solar PV FiTs to remain at current level until 1st May 2013

The new rates of the Feed in Tariff which came into effect on 1st November 2012 and reflected a 3.5% drop in the bands up to 50 kWp, will now remain in place until 1st May 2013, OFGEM have just announced.

Cleobury Company Expands into new Premises

Cleobury Mortimer based renewable energy company EZsolar which was founded by director Andy Perkins in 2003 has experienced such year on year growth that it has left its old premises in Talbot Square and has moved into a purpose built 48,000 sq ft premises on the New House Farm Industrial Estate on the Tenbury Road. 5 Year Paybacks Still Achievable on Solar PV

The press is a double-edged sword, helping out where the story is of “injustice” especially if perpetrated by the government but slow to report a less exciting story that, actually, Solar PV remains almost as good an investment as it ever was and certainly better than anything else currently available, with five year paybacks still achievable, especially in the south of the UK. Large UK lender’s Survey shows that Solar PV on your house is the most looked for ‘non-essential’ by prospective house buyers.

Are solar panels a good investment? Will I get the benefit if I move house? According to mortgage provider ING Direct’s CEO, Richard Doe, the answer is a resounding YES; “In today’s housing market you often have to compete against your neighbours to make that sale.
